Who and what is The Sixth Square, anyway?
It’s the blog of WHYY’s Arts & Culture Service. The voice tends to be that of Kenneth Finkel, Executive Director of the A&C Service. Assitance in research and writing is provided by Andrea Orenstein.
Richard Baniewicz, Director of WHYY’s Online Services provides ongoing inspiration, support and corrective measures.
Guest blogging through the Sundance Festival of 2008 was provided by aspiring screenwriter Kris Kennedy, who hails from Fishtown. Find our more about Kris at her blog, Unsolicited Submissions.
Special additional thanks to past interns: Liz McClearn, Emily Hakkinen, Erica Hauswald and Jennifer Tuomisto.
So, the reason for the blog’s alliterative name? We think it’s kind of obvious in Philadelphia, a city designed with five original squares, and a far better name than “Discourse-Based Epistemology.”
The Sixth Square is intended as a shared space about a city with a powerful sense of place and a dynamic and increasingly meaningful arts and culture community.
