I’ve been following the 100k House blog for a few months now and I’m looking forward to seeing how it ends. Hopefully they’ll have an easier time dealing with the city than I have in my quest to get a business privilege license and a renter’s license.
Anyway, WHYY’s Alex Schmidt checked in on the progress of the 100k house and did this piece for 91FM yesterday.
Being too overwhelmed by meetings to write about it yesterday, I actually got scooped by the folks featured in the story! I’m glad they got a chance to hear it. That’s exactly why I try to make sure that all of these pieces live on our website.
What is the 100k house, you say? Listen to Alex’s piece and find out. My insurance guy recently told me that it would take about $170k to rebuild my house without all of the great energy-efficient features and appliance so what those folks are doing up their in East Kensington is pretty darn impressive.
